Ericka Jo, owner of Shine Nail Lab, located on the south side of Chicago. Est. 2004, Shine has been the go to nail salon for countless patrons and celebrities based on Ericka’s work for the hit tv show Empire.
Ericka is a mentor who teaches the art of nails to kids, teens and adults to help promote self awareness and personal development
Randi ‘Bink’ Slack
Randi (Bink) has been doing nails since 2005, and has worked alongside Ericka at Shine since. Through working at Shine, Bink has created her own path that has led her to where she is in the Human Service Sector. Joining Illinois Collaboration On Youth in February 2017 as a Program Assistant for the Pathways Independent Living Program. Once the program ended, Randi served as Executive Assistant and Office Coordinator and supported all ICOY departments by overseeing the daily office operations as well as providing administrative support to the CEO and to ICOY's training program. In 2019, Randi transitioned into the Training Coordinator role full time and oversaw the facilitation of DHS contracted trainings and meetings which supported 400 participants from over 250 agencies. In the beginning of 2020, Randi was promoted to ICOY’s Child Welfare Manager role, and currently supports two of the Illinois Intact Family Recovery Programs currently being offered in Northern and Eastern Illinois regions covering 21 counties. Illinois Intact Family Recovery increases the well-being, permanency, and safety of children. Randi has a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and Business Management and has taken multiple courses in human service field. Randi has worked in the Human services field from a direct service to administrative level. She has dedicated countless hours in Human Services, which has always been a career interest and passion of hers. As far as nails go, “The pandemic has forced me to Look at business completely different”. Due to COVID, Bink since has moved her nail business to offering mobile services part time.
