Episode 07: Accountability and Love
I was a senior at Alcorn State University when I gave birth to my son. I was a bag of mixed emotions because my peers and family comments were negative and communicated poorly. At the time I internalized my shame and hurt therefore it came out in a variety of ways. I overcompensated in my personal and professional life to gain my peers and family respect. Which led to my mental health deteriorating and ultimately affected my relationship with the most important person in my life, Kedron A. Guinn Jr. My son and I felt it was very important to explore our relationship with you all. Our goal is that you’ll listen and takeaway the importance of accountability and love. Because without these my son and I wouldn’t have been able to sustain our connection and move forward.
