Mackinzie Obama Obamedo
Mackinzie Obama Obamedo is a third-generation cosmetologist and emerging hair artist
redefining legacy through precision, poise, and purpose. Rooted in a lineage of beauty
professionals—her grandmother Lily as the foundation and her mother as the second
generation—Mackinzie represents the evolution of a craft passed down with intention.
A natural, self-taught artist, she began braiding her own hair at nine years old and taking clients
by twelve. By sixteen, she formally entered the industry, attending her family’s beauty school,
Your School of Beauty Culture, where her grandmother’s legacy lives on through education and
excellence.
While attending Jackson State University, Mackinzie continued refining her artistry before
intentionally returning home to fully commit to her calling. Over the past two years—now
entering her third—she has elevated her skills, built a loyal clientele, and established herself as
booked, busy, and in demand.
Beyond technique, Mackinzie is deeply grounded in the belief that self-care is essential—not
transactional or performative, but rooted in intentional time spent with oneself. A philosophy
passed down from her mother, this mindset allows her to show up creatively aligned, centered,
and fully present for her clients.
Polished. Poised. Purpose-driven.
Mackinzie is not only honoring her family legacy—she is expanding it.
